Wallfacer is an open-source terminal session manager that wraps Claude Code and other coding agents - letting developers orchestrate multiple agent sessions, persist context, and manage parallel workstreams from one interface.

In plain terms: Wallfacer is an open-source terminal session manager built specifically around coding agent workflows - Claude Code, and more. It treats agent sessions as first-class objects: name them, persist them, branch them, resume them.

The fact: Coding agent workflows have a context management problem today: each Claude Code session is isolated, there's no native multi-session coordination, and long terminal sessions become unwieldy. Wallfacer wraps this with a session manager that names sessions, persists context, and lets developers switch between parallel agent workstreams without losing state.

[Under the hood]: Wallfacer appears to use tmux-style multiplexing with a metadata layer on top. Sessions get tagged with context, model, and task. Switching between sessions preserves state in a way raw terminal tabs don't. The tooling feels like what you'd build after running Claude Code seriously for a few months.

So what: When developers start building session managers around an AI tool, it's a maturity signal - the tool is in real daily engineering workflows, not demos. Wallfacer is an early form factor for a real emerging need: multi-agent terminal orchestration. The deeper pattern to watch is whether this kind of tooling gets absorbed by IDEs (Cursor, VS Code Agent Mode) or stays a terminal-native practice. Either outcome tells you something about where serious agent-assisted development is heading.
